Marcy Rauer Wagman’s career began as a teenage recording artist, touring throughout the USA, opening for artists like Carlos Santana, Chicago and Miles Davis. From there, she developed into an A-List, award-winning  jingle writer and producer (McDonalds, KYW Newsradio, AT&T, ABC News, Mallo-Cup Candies, Herr’s Potato Chips, and 500 or so more) and worked in the top East Coast recording studios. She enjoyed a reputation as having two of the best ears in the business and went on to write and produce huge hits for huge bands. Always a shrewd business person and passionate about the industry, Marcy later worked her way as a music producer/composer through Villanova University Law School and applied her legal, business and musical knowledge into a very successful entertainment practice of her own. Marcy is also an Associate Professor in the Bachelor of Science in Music Industry Program at Drexel University in Philadelphia, where she founded and developed MAD Dragon UNLTD, a full-service entertainment entity housing the country’s first nationally-distributed student run record label, MAD Dragon Records, as well as five other entertainment industry entities. She serves on Advisory Boards of myriad music industry organizations, such as Future of Music Coalition, as well as the Villanova University Law School Sports and Entertainment Law Journal, the Musician’s Resource Group (the Independent Music Awards), the Editorial Board of the Music and Entertainment Industry Educator’s Association, the Board of Governors of Philadelphia Chapter of The Recording Academy (the Grammy Awards people) and the Board of Directors of the world-renowned Philadelphia Folksong Society (which produces the Philadelphia Folk Festival). Currently, she has completed a book for Pearson Prentice Hall entitled “The University-based Music Business – A Practical Guide”.

Andy Blackman Hurwitz worked his way through American University Law School as one of D.C’s most popular DJs and as the Associate of BET’s Rap City. He went on to specialize in Music Law and through Fillmore Mercantile (where Hurwitz served as General Counsel) was hired by Pearl Jam to challenge Ticketmaster’s monopoly and then helped put the band on a tour of “alternative” venues. While Pearl Jam lost their epic battle on the Hill, Hurwitz won over a lot of skeptics and was subsequently recruited by New York’s Knitting Factory to run their family of record labels and was later drafted by Columbia Records to run their Jazz division. Andy’s proudest professional trophy is the record label that he founded 10 years ago – ropeadope – which has partnered with Atlantic, Sony and Sheridan Square in world wide partnerships and deals. Despite the ups and downs in the music industry, one thing remains constant: Andy’s golden reputation as an attorney and advisor. In addition to his legal practice, Andy is also an Adjunct Professor at Drexel University in Philadelphia where he runs the University owned (and student run) record label MAD Dragon Records.
